WHY CHOOSE PRIVATE CHILDBIRTH EDUCATION?
Unlike a group class, private childbirth education gives us the opportunity to focus entirely on you, your partner and the birth you are preparing for.
With over 13 years of experience as a doula and childbirth educator, I bring both evidence-informed education and real-world experience supporting hundreds of women through pregnancy, labour and birth.
Rather than simply working through a generic curriculum, we can spend more time on the areas that matter most to you — whether that is understanding labour, reducing fear, preparing your partner, exploring your options, practising coping techniques or feeling more confident about making decisions during birth.
You’ll leave knowing:
- what to do
- how to respond
- and how to advocate for yourself
So instead of feeling unsure or overwhelmed,
you walk into your birth feeling prepared, supported, and confident.

MEET YOUR CHILDBIRTH EDUCATOR

Moran – 2Life Doula
With over 13 years of experience supporting women and families through pregnancy, labour, birth and the early postnatal period, I bring much more than textbook knowledge to childbirth education. My teaching is shaped by years of being alongside women during real births and seeing firsthand what helps couples feel informed, calm and confident when labour begins.
My approach is practical, supportive and completely personalised. I draw on my experience as a doula, along with my training in HypnoBirthing, Lamaze and childbirth education, to help you understand how birth works, explore your options and develop practical tools that feel right for you.
I also place a strong emphasis on preparing birth partners, helping them understand how they can provide meaningful physical and emotional support rather than feeling unsure about what to do when labour begins.
Private sessions give us the opportunity to focus entirely on you — your pregnancy, your questions, your concerns and the birth you are preparing for. My aim is for you to leave our time together feeling more knowledgeable, reassured and genuinely prepared to approach your birth with confidence.
FAQ
WHAT IS PRIVATE CHILDBIRTH EDUCATION?
Private childbirth education gives you and your birth partner personalised time to prepare for labour and birth in the comfort of your own home.
Rather than following a group-class format, each session can be tailored to your individual pregnancy, questions, preferences, concerns and the birth you are preparing for.
HOW LONG IS EACH PRIVATE SESSION?
Each private childbirth education session is approximately 90 minutes.
The private format allows us to focus on the areas that are most relevant to you, rather than spending time working through information you may already feel confident about.
HOW MUCH DOES A PRIVATE SESSION COST?
Each 90-minute private session is $200.
Depending on your location, an additional $50 travel fee may apply. I will confirm any applicable travel fee with you before your booking is finalised.
WHERE ARE THE SESSIONS HELD?
Sessions are held in the comfort and privacy of your own home.
This creates a relaxed environment where you and your partner can ask questions openly, practise practical techniques and focus completely on preparing for your birth.
WHAT CAN WE COVER DURING A SESSION?
Your session can be tailored to the areas where you feel you need the most preparation and support.
Depending on your needs, we can explore topics such as:
How labour begins and the stages of labour
The physiology and hormones of birth
Fear, relaxation and the mind-body connection
Breathing and pain-coping techniques
Active birth positions and movement
Massage, counter-pressure and practical comfort measures
Preparing your birth partner and their role during labour
Birth preferences and creating your birth plan
Understanding common birth choices and interventions
Informed decision-making and communicating with your care providers
Preparing for the fourth trimester and early postnatal period
You are also welcome to bring along any particular questions, concerns or areas you would like us to spend more time discussing.
CAN MY PARTNER ATTEND?
Absolutely. I strongly encourage your birth partner to attend wherever possible.
Birth partners often feel much more confident when they understand what is happening during labour and have practical ways to support you. During our session, we can practise techniques such as massage, counter-pressure, positioning, movement and other comfort measures so your partner feels prepared to play an active and supportive role.
HOW MANY SESSIONS SHOULD I BOOK?
This depends entirely on how much preparation you would like and the areas you would like to cover.
You may choose to book a single 90-minute session to focus on particular questions or areas of birth preparation, or book several sessions if you would like more comprehensive childbirth education.
Because the sessions are private, we can tailor each one to what you need rather than following a fixed course structure.
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME IN PREGNANCY TO BOOK?
You can book private childbirth education at any stage of pregnancy.
Many parents find the second trimester through to the early third trimester a good time to begin preparing, as it gives you time to absorb the information, practise techniques and consider your birth preferences.
If you are already further along in your pregnancy, you can still book a session. We can simply focus our time on the areas that are most important to you before your baby arrives.
ARE THE SESSIONS SUITABLE FOR FIRST-TIME PARENTS?
Yes. Private sessions are particularly helpful for first-time parents who want to understand what to expect during labour and birth, explore their options and feel more confident and prepared.
The private format also gives you plenty of opportunity to ask questions that may be specific to your pregnancy, care provider or planned place of birth.
ARE PRIVATE SESSIONS SUITABLE IF I AM PLANNING A VBAC?
Yes. Private birth preparation can also be valuable if you are planning a VBAC, particularly if you have not previously experienced labour or would like additional preparation for your upcoming birth.
We can focus on your previous birth experience, your questions and concerns, birth preferences, labour preparation, partner support and the areas that are particularly important to you this time around.
I HAVE ALREADY ATTENDED HOSPITAL ANTENATAL CLASSES. WOULD A PRIVATE SESSION STILL BE USEFUL?
Yes. Private sessions can complement hospital antenatal education because our time together is focused specifically on you.
Rather than repeating everything you have already learned, we can concentrate on the areas where you would like more information or practical preparation — whether that is coping with labour, partner support, birth positions, decision-making, birth preferences or simply working through questions that have come up since attending your classes.
HOW DO I BOOK?

Once I receive your booking, I can confirm your all set to go and whether a travel fee applies to your location.
