Let labor begin on its own
Walk, move around and change positions throughout labor
Bring a loved one, friend or doula for continuous support
Avoid interventions that are not medically necessary
Avoid giving birth on your back and follow your body’s urges to push

Group classes are a wonderful way to interact, engage and learn from other expectant families within a comfortable and supported environment.
The classes will provide you and your partner on a range of ‘tools’ to guide you through labour and birth and the postnatal period for a positive transition through labour, birth and postpartum.

How to ward off fear and anxiety during birth
Relaxation and mindfulness practices
Prenatal & Postpartum nutrition
The normal, natural process of labour and birth, and health-care practices that support it
The rights of childbearing woman
The important role that pain plays in labour and a wide variety of coping strategies for managing it
How your partner can support you during labour
Movement and positioning during labour and birth
Medical interventions and their indications, risks and alternatives and help you make your own birth preferences
How to communicate with your healthcare provider
Breastfeeding
Postpartum expectations and self care
Local resources to support you during and after pregnancy
You will also receive:
A goody bag full of information and some sample products from natural product brands.
A booklet on the physiology of labour and birth
A folder for all your materials throughout the course and handouts on all the related topics to review at home
A relaxation cd for your home practice
The price for the 2 full day classes is $600 per couple. A $100 deposit is required to hold your spot with the remaining amount due 2 weeks prior to class start date.
