2LIFE DOULA SUPPORT
“There is ample research on the benefits of doulas at births. (Hodnett, 2013) When the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine (SMFM) released their groundbreaking “Safe Prevention of the Primary Cesarean Delivery” Obstetric Care Consensus Statement in February 2014, one of their key recommendations to reduce the primary cesarean rate in the USA was the continuous presence of a doula at a birth. (Caughey, 2014)”
A birth doula is a person trained and experienced in childbirth who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to the mother before, during and just after childbirth.
The word “doula” comes from ancient Greek, meaning “Woman’s servant”. Throughout history and in much of the world today, a cadre of women support a woman through labor and birth, giving back rubs and providing continuous emotional support.
A doula provides support and uninterrupted care for a woman in labour. I meet with the mother and her partner a few times before the birth. I will be in contact with you during early labor and will come and be with you when your labour has started establishing into active labour. I will accompany both you and your partner throughout labor and delivery. I will provide physical and emotional support, comfort and pain-coping measures, encouragement, and aid your partner in being able to support you to the best of his ability. I will advocate for the mother and her partner and help them make informed decisions. After the birth, I will visit you at your home or hospital to see if you need to debrief the birth or aid you with any resources you may need during the postpartum period.
I deeply understand, trust, and respect the process of labour and birth. My goal is to support the emotional and physical journey of the mother and her partner. At all times I strive to provide the best possible experience for the family that I am supporting and ease their transition into parenthood.
Doula birth SUPPORT

Birth Doula Duo Support
Two experienced doulas.
One connected support team.
Birth is unpredictable, and having the right support around you can make an enormous difference.
Through our Doula Duo, you will be supported by Moran Liviani of 2Life Doula and Sammy Griffin of Sammy Griffin Birth Support. Together, we bring many years of experience supporting families through pregnancy, labour, birth and the early postnatal period.
During your pregnancy, you will spend time with both of us so we can get to know you, your partner, your preferences and what is most important to you for your birth. We will stay in close communication with each other throughout your pregnancy, sharing relevant information and working together so that your care feels consistent and connected, regardless of which one of us attends your birth.
One of us will provide your in-person labour and birth support, rather than both of us attending at the same time. The other doula will remain available as backup and can step in if a handover is needed due to a particularly long labour, illness or unforeseen circumstances. Any handover will be carefully communicated so that you continue to feel supported and do not need to explain your wishes or circumstances again.
This arrangement allows you to benefit from the combined knowledge, experience and perspective of two established doulas, while still receiving calm, familiar and continuous one-to-one support throughout your labour and birth.
DOULA DUO PACKAGE 1 — $4200
This package is designed for: First-time mamas wanting to feel fully prepared and informed, or VBAC mamas approaching labour for the first time.
Your Pregnancy Journey Package ~ Embrace Your Unique Birth Experience
As your Doula Duo, we will celebrate the uniqueness of your pregnancy journey. This comprehensive package is designed to ensure you and your partner feel informed, confident and fully prepared for the experience of bringing your baby into the world.
During your pregnancy, you will spend time with both of us so we can get to know you, your partner, your preferences and what is most important to you for your birth. We will remain in close communication and work together behind the scenes so that your care feels consistent and connected throughout your pregnancy, labour and birth.
What’s Included:
Three comprehensive private prenatal sessions with both doulas, birth doula support and one postnatal check-in and birth debrief session.
Our three private prenatal sessions are designed to provide you and your partner with comprehensive childbirth education and personalised birth preparation, while allowing us to tailor each session specifically to your individual circumstances, preferences and needs.
THREE PRIVATE PRENATAL SESSIONS
This package includes three comprehensive private prenatal sessions with both of us.
Rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach, these sessions allow us to spend time getting to know you and your partner while providing the knowledge, practical tools and preparation you need to approach labour and birth feeling informed and confident.
Across the three sessions, we will explore:
- The stages and physiology of labour
- Understanding what happens physically and emotionally during birth
- HypnoBirthing mind-body connection tools and techniques
- Birth preferences and informed decision-making
- Relaxation and pain-coping techniques
- Active birth positions and comfort measures
- Practical partner support
- Preparing for the fourth trimester
- Postnatal recovery and the early weeks with your baby
The private format allows us to focus closely on your individual circumstances, preferences, previous experiences and any concerns you or your partner may have.
It also gives both of us the opportunity to build a relationship with you before your birth, ensuring we understand what is most important to you and can provide consistent, connected support regardless of which one of us attends your birth.
The sessions are also an opportunity to ask personal questions, explore your birth options, practise practical labour techniques and work through different aspects of birth preparation in a way that is relevant to your individual needs.
Connecting With You and Your Partner:
- Explore your expectations and preferences for your birth, creating a roadmap that aligns with your individual vision.
- Guide your partner in understanding their important role and tailoring their involvement to your preferences and needs.
- Equip both of you with essential knowledge, practical tools and insights for labour and birth.
- Discuss how you would like to be supported physically, emotionally and practically.
- Ensure both doulas understand your preferences so your care remains consistent regardless of which one of us attends your birth.

- Establish a strong foundation for us to work together as a supportive birth team.

Understanding Labour and Birth:
Develop a clear understanding of how labour may begin, the different stages of labour and what you may experience physically and emotionally as your birth progresses.
Understanding the physiology of birth can reduce uncertainty and help you and your partner recognise what is happening throughout labour.
Fear Exploration:
Explore and address any fears that may accompany the anticipation of your upcoming birth.
Your private prenatal sessions provide a secure and judgment-free environment in which you can express your concerns. Together, we will work through these fears, helping you approach your birth feeling more informed, empowered and calm.
Relaxation Techniques and Coping Strategies:
Discover an approach to relaxation and labour support that suits your individual needs.
You will learn practical techniques designed to help you navigate the different stages of labour with greater confidence and composure. By understanding and practising these strategies during pregnancy, you and your partner will feel more prepared to use them when labour begins.
Active Birth Positions and Comfort Measures:
Explore a variety of active birth positions that can support movement, comfort and the natural progression of labour.
You and your partner will also learn practical comfort measures, including massage, counter-pressure, breathing, movement, positioning and the use of different birth tools.
Crafting Your Birth Plan:
Our collaborative process involves creating a comprehensive birth plan that goes beyond simply listing your preferences. It is also about education, communication and informed decision-making.
We will explore your options and help you understand the potential benefits, risks and alternatives relating to common birth choices and interventions. This allows you to make informed decisions that align with your individual values and vision for your birth.
Pain-Coping Techniques:
Equip yourself with a range of pain-coping techniques tailored to your preferences.
Whether through mindfulness, breathing, relaxation, movement, massage, touch or positioning, you will develop a practical toolkit to help you manage the intensity of labour and feel more confident throughout the experience.
Preparing Your Birth Partner:
Your birth partner will learn how to recognise your needs, offer effective physical and emotional support and work alongside your doula as part of your birth team.
Our role is not to replace your partner, but to help them feel confident, involved and supported in their important role.
Fourth Trimester Insight:
Extend your preparation beyond childbirth by learning about the fourth trimester.
We will explore important aspects of postnatal recovery, newborn care, feeding, emotional wellbeing and creating a supportive environment for you, your baby and your family during this transformative period.
Continuous Support:
Enjoy the reassurance of phone and message support during the early stages of labour, providing guidance and reassurance when you need it most.
Once labour becomes established and you feel ready for additional in-person support, one of us will join you at home or at your chosen place of birth.
We will be on call for you 24 hours a day from 38 weeks of pregnancy until your baby is born.
One of us will provide continuous physical, emotional and informational support throughout your active labour and birth. The other doula will remain available to provide backup or step in for a carefully communicated handover if needed.
This means you are not relying on the availability of only one doula. You will know and have built a relationship with both of us before your birth, giving you the reassurance of familiar and experienced support regardless of which one of us is by your side.
These components are not simply individual services. They are pillars of support designed to nurture your confidence, deepen your knowledge and create an environment in which you can approach childbirth feeling informed, prepared and genuinely supported.
